EXCITING SQUASH TO WATCH 12 TO 17 AUGUST BEGA OPEN PSA TOURNAMENT HERE IN BEGA!!
John Stylianou will be running a PSA (Professional Squash Association) tournament commencing on 12 August.
The event will see 24 world class ladies from both Australian and overseas spending a week in Bega to compete in the Bega Open.
Matches will be played each evening from Wednesday 12 with semis on Saturday 16 and Finals on Sunday 17 August and will also be live streamed.
This is a great opportunity for Bega valley locals to see world class players in action at no cost. Just come on out to the courts any evening or on the weekend to see some exciting squash.
John has indicated some players to watch out for include Anahat Singh (India currently ranked 54 in the world.) Anna is an up-and-coming PSA player, the youngest Indian to qualify for the World Championships. Squash experts believe she will soon be one of the top 10 players in the world.
Also attending will be Australia’s Rachel Grinham, who has competed in past Bega Opens. Rachel won the World Open in 2007, and the British Open in 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2009. She reached the World No. 1 ranking in August 2004 and held it for 16 consecutive months.
Rachel has represented Australia in the Commonwealth games 4 times and was flag bearer in 2022. She is always generous with her time engaging with spectators and other competitor
