The Top Video Bega Squash Spring competition will commence this week with 102 players nominating. Fees of $55 (comp fee) and $20 (membership for the first comp played in each calendar year) are due week one, and our treasurer Cliff Pistorius will be on hand to collect these.   Players are also encouraged to join the Bega RSL - one year membership is only $5.50 and entitles players to use of the club facilities, discounted court hire and other members discounts. Ask the bar staff for an RSL membership form or Cliff will have some on hand which you can complete when paying your Squash fees.

The Spring competition will run for 10 weeks, with a 1 week break following the long weekend. This comp is a mixed grade comp, with a player from A, B, C, D and E grade in each team. Mixed comps are a great opportunity for less skilled players to pick up some coaching hints from our A grade captains and for members to mix and meet other players from within the grades.

Please check the week 1 draw and teams list and make sure you are at the courts on your designated night. A full copy of the 10 week draw is available on the clubs website www.begasquashclub.com.au and the Club’s facebook pagehttps://www.facebook.com/BegaSquashClub. Limited printed copies of the draw be available at the courts during the first week. If you need a printed version and miss out on collecting one please contact our Draw Secretary, Keri Blacker or speak to one of the committee.

If you need a substitute player at any time please contact a player graded below you on the graded list.

With our comp up and running entries are now being taken for the Tarra Motors Bega Open which will be run on 12 and 13 October. There are grades for all standards - entries forms are available on the website, at the courts our ask a committee member. Numbers are limited so be quick if you want to play.

A fantastic standard of squash is expected over the weekend, a dinner dance has been arranged for the Saturday night and a competition to win a new car is also being sponsored by John and Goodrun Stylianou of Tarra Motors. Members are encouraged to help out at a working bee at the courts on the weekend of 21 and 22 September as part of preparations for the Open Tournament.   Look out for more information about the weekends activities in coming weeks.
